I am a Trinity College-certified native English Teacher with a Masters Degree in English Literature. My experience includes Cambridge C1 Advanced and B2 First Certificate preparation, preparing and grading mock exams, exam invigilation (so I can tell you exactly what exam conditions are like), and general conversation classes.
I am a very patient, focused, and attentive teacher with a background in Business and Academic English, too.

One of the things my students value about me as a teacher is that I am easy to understand (compared to English teachers with more pronounced accents). As I have lived in five countries and worked in four, my accent is an internationalised mix! It is mostly of South African English origin, but there are hints of Australian in there too. More about Emma’s teaching experience
I have taught all levels (A1-C2) and all ages (5 – 60+ years).
For all online conversation classes, I create slideshows. These slideshows include key phrases and visuals (based on what the topic of the lesson is). I aim for an 80/20 teacher-student talking time (80% of the time, the student should be talking). I will often start with a few conversation-generating questions, delve into the main vocabulary/grammar point for the lesson, and end with a fun speaking activity or game.
